Color In Motion

May 2026

This colorful handkerchief skirt was my first project exploring CLO3D and digital garment development. Designed as a double-layered satin skirt, the piece features a fluid, asymmetric silhouette finished with golden binding along the hem, creating a striking contrast against the vibrant color palette. The handkerchief shape allows the satin to move naturally with the body, emphasizing both drape and movement.

As my first CLO3D project, this piece challenged me to expand my computer-aided design and digital patternmaking skills while learning how to translate a physical garment concept into a virtual environment. Through experimentation with construction, fabric behavior, and silhouette, I was able to develop a stronger understanding of digital garment design and bring my vision to life. I modeled the final look on Worth Avenue in West Palm Beach, where the colorful satin and gold detailing complemented the polished, vibrant atmosphere of the setting.
