In my Pattern Development class, I tackled a formidable challenge: recreating the Denim Rounded Shoulders Jacket from Schiaparelli’s Fall/Winter 2024 Ready-to-Wear collection. This was my first fully self-patterned garment, and it demanded a mastery of intricate construction details including: double princess seams, a five-panel kimono sleeve, gusset panels, welt and patch pockets, multiple darts, flat-felled seams, and precise topstitching. I personalized the piece by selecting gold metal rose buttons, infusing my signature romantic touch while honoring Schiaparelli’s vision. For the photoshoot, I surrounded myself with suspended gold roses, captured beautifully by arianaleonephotography. This project pushed my technical and creative abilities to new heights.
